Since the new Nissan LMP1 entry is Petrol-FWD/electric-RWD, I want to know what other cars have gone to LeMans with only the front wheels getting petrol-power.

Here's what I found so far, a 1928 Alvis Front Wheel Drive Sports Le Mans won the 1500cc and fixing 8th overall in 1928.

Deutsch-Bonnet (sometimes just DB) made front wheel drive sports cars in the 1950s and 1960s that competed in the 24. They competed in the small displacement classes.
